Sustainability Programs
Our Australian Curriculum 'Cross Curricular Priority' of sustainability is a real focus in our school which we bring to life with some 'real-life' learning opportunities for our students with their engagement in recycling activities and our school 'veggie patch'. Mrs Nicholson, one of our TAs is now coordinating this work with our students and they have done a great job with getting our vegetable garden back up to speed with our 'winter crop' now planted. Make sure when up at the school next, that you drop in and check out our impressive vegetable patch!
Our school is very fortunate to have many links with our local community who are very supportive of our school and the work that we do with our students.
Fulton Hogan (the company coordinating the 'Walkerston Bypass Project') are one such supporter who have been collecting 'containers' from their workers and donating them to our P&C Containers for Change account. Funds from this program are gifted back to the school to use to fund and operate our 'sustainability programs'. On behalf of our school I would like to acknowledge and thank Fulton Hogan for the great support that they are providing our school and students here at Scrubby!
